David has over 20 years of mining finance experience advising on and executing transactions globally. His breadth of experience across the financing spectrum covers private equity and ECM; trade, project & acquisition finance; and royalty & streaming agreements. David was formerly at Citibank in London as the senior advisor to its global commodities team, with a focus on mining project analysis and structuring. Before that, he was an executive director at Minexia Limited in London where he was responsible for originating and structuring ECM and project finance transactions. David also led the mining investments team at Quantum Global in Mauritius, focussing on private equity and mezzanine investment opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa. This followed many years banking mining project and acquisition finance transactions for Nedbank, WestLB and Rothschild in both London and Australia.

Gangama Mineral Sands Project, Sierra Leone: led the US$ 15m mezzanine facility and US$ 50m project facility supporting Sierra Rutile’s project in Sierra Leone. Sierra Rutile was taken over by Iluka Resources
Langer Heinrich Uranium Project, Namibia: led the initial US$ 130m project facility and subsequent US$ 70m corporate facility for Paladin Energy
Kwale Mineral Sands Project, Kenya: led the US$ 220m project facility for Base Resources supporting the construction of the project. First mining project financing in Kenya
Yeristovo Mining Iron Ore Pelletizing Operation, Ukraine: led the European ECA-covered US$ 35m equipment financing facility to provide yellow goods to Ferrexpo’s Ukrainian operation
New Liberty Gold Project, Liberia: led the US$ 88m project and US$ 12m mezzanine facility supporting the construction of the project led by Aureus Mining
Epanko Graphite Project, Tanzania: provided advisory services to Kibaran Resources relating to the raising of structured finance to facilitate the construction of the project. An offtake contract was secured from ThyssenKrupp for the European refractory market
Kaunisvaara Iron Ore Project, Sweden: provided debt advisory services to Northland Resources and received credit approval for the project financing
