Political Risk Mitigation

Political risk insurance (PRI) can take many forms. At HCF, we have built a reputation for providing the appropriate political risk mitigation instrument and advice. 

From 2011 to 2016, we acted as an agent for the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), one of seven globally and the only agent exclusively focused on the Metals & Mining sector. In addition to facilitating the signing of landmark transactions, our agency role has given us an unparalleled knowledge of MIGA and its products, as well as access to the highest levels within the Agency.

We excel at guiding clients through various aspects of political risk mitigation and government negotiations, including advising on the negotiation of investment agreements, mining conventions, structuring and executing MIGA PRI coverage for a variety of transactions. We also provide expertise on Development Finance Institution and Export Credit Agency-led transactions aimed at providing partial or full political risk coverage.
